Who publishes it
The encyclopedia is published by Teamotea. The company sells Chinese tea: retail through its shop at shop.teamotea.com, wholesale through wholesale.teamotea.com.
A link to the shop appears only under articles about teas the shop sells. The encyclopedia is not a shop catalogue: many of the teas described here are not for sale.
More about the company and its founder is on the About the authors page and at teamotea.com. Legal information about the company is at teamotea.com/legal.

How articles are prepared
The source language of the encyclopedia is Russian. Articles are written with the help of language models from research material — standards, registrations and publications. The finished texts go through automated checks and selective proofreading.
Translations into all other languages, English included, are machine translations, also with automated checks and selective proofreading.
What it rests on
Articles rely on documents that can be checked:
- national (GB, GB/T), industry, local (DB) and group (T/) standards of the People’s Republic of China;
- geographical indication registrations;
- official websites of government agencies of the PRC and Taiwan;
- scientific publications.
The full list is on the Sources page. Under each article are the documents it refers to.
Mistakes
If you find a mistake or outdated information, write to mail@teamotea.com and include the address of the article.
Not medical advice
Articles describe tea and are not medical advice. Discuss questions of health with a doctor.
Markdown and data
Every article is also available as Markdown: add .md to its address. The encyclopedia’s data is available through a Content API and an MCP server — see api.thetea.app/llms.txt.
